Traditional Yemenite Wedding Necklace

Traditional Yemenite wedding necklace. This handmade work of art is inspired by an early 20th-century original ethnic tribal Jewish bridal necklace. It is known as the “Labbeh” in Yemenite language and was given to wear for marriage, following childbirth, and other joyous occasions. Alternating with silver, gold, and gemstone beads with pomegranate balls or bells, this jewel was often associated with fertility and worn to fend off bad spirits.
